From Shed to Sanctuary

The place everyone wants to be - all year round...

This project began with the removal of an existing shed, opening up the opportunity to completely rethink how the space could be used. What was once an underutilised area of the garden has been transformed into a high-end, fully equipped entertainment space designed for year-round use.

The structure was rebuilt from the ground up, with insulated and clad walls and a durable rubber roofing system, ensuring both comfort and long-term performance. The redesign focused on creating a space that balances relaxation, entertainment, and practicality in equal measure.

At the heart of the interior is a bespoke bar area, complete with fridge, freezer, and ice machine, alongside a full entertainment setup including a projector, PC, sound suite, and games area. Every element was carefully considered to create a space that works just as well for quiet evenings as it does for social gatherings.

A large, comfortable seating area with a feature oil fire provides a warm and inviting focal point, ensuring the space remains usable throughout the colder months. Additional features such as a massage chair further elevate the environment, turning it into a true retreat within the home.

Externally, the design extends into a covered seating area and surrounding decking, centred around a top-of-the-range 7-seater hot tub — creating a private space to relax and unwind throughout the year. Plumbing and drainage were integrated to support both the hot tub and an outdoor shower, adding another layer of practicality to the build.

Sustainability was also considered, with the installation of rainwater harvesting linked to the structure, providing a useful water source for the neighbouring vegetable plot.

What was once a simple garden structure is now a carefully designed, multi-functional living space — a seamless extension of the home that enhances both lifestyle and enjoyment.
