Small room - big beginnings
Sometimes the smallest rooms hold the biggest moments.
This project focused on transforming a compact bedroom into a calm, welcoming nursery designed to provide comfort, practicality, and a peaceful environment for both baby and parents.
The design centred on creating a soft, soothing atmosphere using gentle pastel tones, natural light, and carefully selected furniture. Pale pink walls, warm neutral flooring, and crisp white furniture combine to produce a light and airy space that feels both safe and nurturing.
Every element of the room was chosen to balance functionality with warmth. A classic cot provides a secure sleeping space, while a comfortable rocking chair creates a quiet corner for feeding, reading, settling, or simply enjoying the peaceful moments of watching the baby rest. A generously sized dresser provides practical storage while also being large enough to accommodate a changing mat on top, keeping everyday essentials conveniently within reach. Soft-close drawers ensure nappies, clothes, and other necessities are organised and easily accessible while maintaining the calm, uncluttered feel of the room.
Attention to detail plays an important role in the character of the space. Decorative touches such as soft textiles, framed artwork, delicate lighting, and subtle accessories add personality without overwhelming the room. These small elements help transform a simple bedroom into a place filled with warmth and anticipation.
Natural light from the window softens the room throughout the day, while carefully positioned dimable lighting, controlled by voice or in an app, ensures a gentle atmosphere during evening routines.
The result is a peaceful, beautifully balanced nursery — a space designed not only for practicality but also for those quiet moments that define the early days of family life. Like all ecpc projects, the goal was simple: to take an ordinary space and shape it into something meaningful, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed.
